When the sun’s out and the heat is on, there’s nothing better than a cold glass of pink lemonade to refresh and cool off. With your Thermomix, you can take this classic drink to the next level. Simply toss in whole lemons, rind and all, and let the Thermomix turn them into a smooth, citrusy drink in seconds. I’ll show you how to make the perfect Thermomix pink lemonade, including the secret ingredient that gives it that refreshing and captivating pink hue.
Summer Sips & Smiles
This weekend the kids set up their own lemonade stand and honestly it was the perfect activity for a hot sunny day. They love using the Thermomix to make lemonade — it is simple enough that they can do most of it themselves and they have genuinely gotten the hang of it now.
What started as a fun weekend activity turned into a little learning moment without anyone even realising it. Their friends joined in too and suddenly there was a whole crew of kids in the kitchen feeling like junior chefs. The Thermomix is easy for them to navigate and the precise controls make the whole process straightforward and safe enough that I feel completely comfortable letting them use it independently.
There is something really nice about watching them learn kitchen skills in a way that does not feel like a lesson. And when they got to pour glasses of lemonade they made themselves and share it with everyone — you could see how proud they were. That part never gets old.
The Easiest Lemonade You Will Ever Make
One thing that genuinely surprised me when I first made lemonade in the Thermomix was that you use the whole lemon — rind and all. I was not expecting that but it makes complete sense once you try it. The skin adds a depth of flavour and that naturally vibrant colour you just cannot get any other way.
The process is straightforward — toss the whole lemons in, let the Thermomix do its thing, and in just a few minutes you have a pitcher of fresh zesty lemonade ready to go. No squeezing, no straining, no fuss. It has completely changed how we make it at home and we have not looked back since.
Some of the benefits of using the whole lemons:
- Nutrient-Rich: The lemon peel is rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, contributing to a healthier and more nutritious beverage by adding more fibre and vitamin C to your drink.
- Natural Aroma: The oils in the lemon peel provide a natural fragrance that enhances the overall sensory experience of your lemonade.
- Natural Colour: Using the lemon peel can even impart a subtle colour to your lemonade, giving it a more appealing and natural hue without the need for artificial additives.
- Intense Flavour: The lemon peel contains essential oils that add a more robust citrus flavour, making your lemonade more flavourful and aromatic.
- Less Waste: Using the whole lemon, including the peel, reduces waste and maximizes the lemon’s flavour and nutrients. As well, you can actually save the lemon remnants and make lemon cake with it.
The Hidden Gem Behind Pink Lemonade’s Colour Splash
Making pink lemonade is surprisingly simple, and you don’t need any artificial food colouring. Just blend some raspberries or purple cabbage with the lemons, and you’ll get that beautiful, natural pink hue. Plus, it’s a great way to boost the drink’s nutritional value, as both raspberries and purple cabbage are packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that are good for your health.

Ingredients:
- 2 whole lemons, washed and halved (including peel)
- 1/2 cup or 100g granulated sugar
- 4 cups water
- 1/2 cup fresh raspberries or a small piece of purple cabbage (for the pink hue)
- Ice cubes (optional)
- Fresh mint leaves or lemon slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions for the Thermomix:
- Place the sugar into the mixing bowl and grind for 10 seconds at speed 10.
- Add the lemons and raspberries/purple cabbage (if you want the pink hue) and hit Turbo to chop everything up. Takes only 2 seconds.
- Add 4 cups of water to the lemon mixture in the Thermomix.
- Blend all the ingredients together on speed 4 for about 10 seconds until well combined and the mixture turns a vibrant pink colour.
- Taste the lemonade and adjust the sweetness or tartness by adding more sugar or lemon juice as needed.
- Using the simmering basket, strain the lemonade into a pitcher or some glasses and garnish with fresh mint leaves or lemon slices if desired, and serve immediately. If you’d like your lemonade chilled, you can add ice cubes. Enjoy your refreshing homemade Thermomix Pink Lemonade!
