The Salt and Soul Table

I’m a big believer in real food, the kind that nourishes your body, fills your kitchen with those cozy, comforting smells, and brings people together around the table. But I also don’t believe healthy eating should feel like a chore… or something that has to be perfectly planned all the time. Real life doesn’t work like that.

To me, it’s about finding a balance that actually fits into your day-to-day.

My role isn’t to tell you to eat the “freshest” foods or follow the strictest plan. It’s to help you figure out what works for you. Some days that might look like cooking from scratch, and other days it might mean pulling out frozen vegetables or keeping things simple because you’re tired or short on time. Both count. Both can support your body. Both can be part of a balanced approach.

A Holistic Approach to the Whole Self

As a certified nutritionist currently working toward becoming a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, I love looking at the bigger picture. We’re not just eating to fill our plates, we’re supporting our energy, our mood, our hormones, and how we feel overall. I don’t believe in restrictive diets or quick fixes, they rarely last. Instead, I focus on balanced eating that works in real life, busy days, different preferences, cravings and all.

This love for nutrition really grew when I became a parent. Like most new moms, I wanted to give my I reached a point where I felt completely depleted. And it hit me, I couldn’t keep showing up the way I wanted to if I wasn’t supporting my own health. That shift changed everything.

This space started as a place to share my favourite family recipes, simple, everyday meals made with love. Over time, it’s grown into something deeper. Less about “what’s for dinner,” and more about how food can support how we feel day to day.

Travel has also shaped how I see nourishment. Whether it’s seasonal eating in Japan or herbal traditions in Hong Kong, it’s reminded me that food is more than numbers on a plate. It’s cultural, personal, and deeply connected to how we live.

Nutrition stopped being about doing things “perfectly” and became about support, helping me feel more steady, more energized, and more like myself again.

Roots in Ancient Wisdom

My approach is also deeply influenced by how I grew up, surrounded by Traditional Chinese Medicine.

I grew up with it in my home, the warm herbal teas, the reminders to slow down, and the understanding that food plays a role in how we feel and function. Over the years, with guidance from the TCM doctors I’ve been seeing for decades, I’ve continued learning a great deal about how food, energy, and emotions are all connected. Those early lessons, combined with this ongoing mentorship, have deepened my understanding that it’s not just about what we eat, but how we live and care for ourselves day to day.

The Magic of Tiny Hands in the Kitchen

Now that my little ones are growing, I’m passing those ideas along.

One of my favourite things is watching them get involved in the kitchen, getting curious, asking questions, making a mess (lots of mess), and learning how food comes together. Those little moments matter more than we think.

They build habits. They build connection.

I believe in a balanced approach, enjoying nourishing meals alongside the foods we love. Some days that looks like a home-cooked dinner, and other days it’s something quick and simple. Both have a place. When we approach food with flexibility and a sense of ease, it becomes something supportive rather than stressful.

I’m so glad you’re here at my table. Let’s find your balance together.
