The Salt and Soul Table

I’m a firm believer in real food—the kind that nourishes the body, fills the kitchen with inviting aromas, and brings people together around the table. To me, healthy eating shouldn’t feel like a chore or something that has to be perfectly planned. It’s about finding a balance that fits into real life.

My role isn’t to tell you to eat the “freshest” or follow the strictest plan. It’s to help you find a way of eating that supports you while still feeling doable. Sometimes that means cooking from scratch, and other times it means using frozen vegetables or simpler options when life is busy. Both can be part of a balanced approach.

There’s no need for everything to be perfect. Some days, choosing the easier option—just to save time or because you’re tired—is exactly what you need. That still counts. Balance is what matters, and that’s what I’m here to support.

A Holistic Approach to the Whole Self

As a nutritionist currently completing my journey to become a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and Wellness Coach, I work from a whole-person perspective. We’re not just eating to fill our plates—we’re supporting our overall well-being. I don’t believe in restrictive diets or quick fixes. Instead, I focus on balanced eating that works within the rhythm of real life—busy schedules, different preferences, and everyday cravings included.

This love for nutrition came at a meaningful time in my life—when I became a parent. Like many new moms, I wanted to provide the best for my child, but I quickly realized that I needed to support my own health as well.

I reached a point where I felt depleted, and I knew I couldn’t show up the way I wanted if I wasn’t taking care of myself. That experience shifted everything for me. Nutrition became less about perfection and more about support—something that helped me feel steady, energized, and more like myself again.

Roots in Ancient Wisdom

My approach is also shaped by my upbringing and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

I grew up with it in my home—the warm herbal teas, the reminders to slow down, and the understanding that food plays a role in how we feel and function. Over the years, with guidance from the TCM doctors I’ve been seeing for decades, I’ve continued learning a great deal about how food, energy, and emotions are all connected. Those early lessons, combined with this ongoing mentorship, have deepened my understanding that it’s not just about what we eat, but how we live and care for ourselves day to day.

The Magic of Tiny Hands in the Kitchen

Now that my little ones are growing, I’m passing those ideas along.

One of my favourite things is watching them get curious in the kitchen—learning where food comes from and how it comes together. Yes, it gets messy, but that’s part of it. Those moments build habits that last far beyond the meal.

I believe in a balanced approach—enjoying nourishing meals alongside the foods we love. Some days that looks like a home-cooked dinner, and other days it might be something simpler. Both have a place. When we approach food with flexibility and a sense of ease, it becomes something supportive rather than stressful.

I’m so glad you’re here at my table. Let’s find your balance together.
