Recalling the Sky-High Thrills (August 9, 2023)

So this post is a little different from my usual foodie content.

I was going through an old box of photos the other day (you know the ones you forget you even have), and suddenly I was hit with a wave of nostalgia. One photo in particular stopped me—a shot of me parasailing during my travels.

This one was from the Caribbean, but it instantly brought me back to the very first time I tried it in Bali. And of course… once I started thinking about Bali, I couldn’t not think about the food too.

I can’t even explain how much I loved parasailing.

It’s not just the thrill—it’s the feeling of stepping completely out of your normal life for a moment. You go from standing on the boat thinking okay, here we go… to suddenly being lifted up into the air, and everything just gets quiet.

You’re floating. No noise, no rush, no to-do list.

Just you, the sky, and the view.

And the view… it’s one of those things that makes you stop and think, wow, this world is actually unreal. Land, ocean, sky—all of it laid out in front of you. Bali especially… it’s already beautiful, but seeing it from up there? Totally different experience.

It’s cool how something like that stays with you.

It’s not just about the activity—it’s that reminder of what it feels like to step outside your comfort zone and actually live a moment instead of rushing through it.

Sometimes we get so caught up in everyday life that we forget how good it feels to just pause, take it all in, and do something a little unexpected.

When was the last time you did something that made you feel like that?

Even something small counts.

Why Prince Edward Island Stole Our Hearts (October 3, 2024)

One summer, we had the chance to visit Prince Edward Island—and I can honestly say, we fell in love with it.

PEI is one of those places that almost doesn’t feel real at first. The rolling green hills, those iconic red cliffs, the beaches that just go on forever… it honestly felt like we had stepped into a postcard. Every little town had its own charm, with lighthouses, quiet roads, and views around every corner that made you stop and look for a second.

But what really stood out wasn’t just how beautiful it was—it was how it felt.

Everything moved a little slower there, in the best way. You don’t feel rushed. You’re not thinking about the next thing. You just… settle in. And the people? So kind, so welcoming—it just adds to that whole feeling of ease.

There’s something about PEI that stays with you.

It’s not just the scenery—it’s the calm, the simplicity, the way it makes you want to slow down and actually enjoy where you are. The kind of place where you find yourself thinking, why don’t I do this more often? We left already talking about when we’d go back.

Have you ever been somewhere that just felt like that
